Unsure if you know, but the 4080super is within 2-3% performance of the normal 4080 👍
Direct from Lenovo is the newer version with the 14th-gen i9-14900KF and a 48080 SUPER for about $220 more.

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/de...90v6000uus

Sometimes there are other codes on Lenovo (or CB sites) to get the price down. Even 10% back would make it equal to this posted deal.

EDIT: There are discounts for student, teacher, senior, etc. via ID.me. I get an extra discount of $115.92 making the total $2202 for the latest version with 14th-gen and 4080 SUPER. There is also a popular CB site offering 15% CB.
in no way is that paid for apple article show the m4 is faster than the 4080 gpu in a desktop with a 13900KF. single vs multi-core and rendering, programming, media encoding, not a chance. look again. that's a single core reference. not many productivity things are single core.

Is Lenovo a decent company to deal with? I've just been hearing horror stories about Asus and Crosair

Being asked this right now. And I want to believe Lenovo is currently a safe manufacturer, but so many people are more comfortable going through Costco for returns these days. But even Costco can't be risk free, so it's all about trust. 😖

No USB-C on the front. Deal breaker.

It is super annoying. I have the 4090 version and the lack of USBC (it has one in the back) is my only complaint

Something I've been wondering. Was worried I'd have to do maintenance once in awhile.
On a long enough timeline, maybe. But your system will likely be antiquated at that point. And maintenance would be dropping a replacement cooler in - not topping off a radiator.

If you're worried about it, there are tools for stress testing CPUs and monitoring CPU temperatures.

Also, cleaning the dust off of everything that accumulates over time is more important for cooling and air flow. If you're going to do any non-data related maintenance on a PC, that's huge. Especially if you have active cooling fans.

That's what I already do now with my pre-bult 2070 Super I got back a few years. Just recently started to flirt with the idea of getting something more high end. Wasn't sure if there was something more involved when you add liquid cooling into the mix.

Both AiO's that I have had have evaporated over time 5-8years.
When that happened I threw them out, I guess you could try to refurbish them, but because of that I have mostly stuck to air cooled ones since the only issue I'm with those is the fans going bad (which can also happen to AiOs) and in that case you just replace the fans and your good to go.

That is my only hang up as well.

I've been meaning to get a super long usb-c cable or Lenovo dock plugged in the back, but otherwise it's been rock solid.

Is there's a speed limit on the back port? I don't want to move a desk more than once lol

It also has an i9 F processor, pass

F just means no integrated graphics. Still a "K" so it's unlocked/overclockable. Why would you buy an i9 and 4080 desktop to run on crappy integrated Intel graphics?

Are the parts in this normal rather than weird proprietary stuff? I don't want that case but I'll take the guts.

Kills the deal. Replace the CPU with a 7800x3d and you don't even need the AIO and can get all of this with faster ram for 1800ish piecemeal.
