And if you change the filter when it gets dirty then a high quality pleated filter (with enough pleats of course) should not be a problem.

No as I think you need a 4" thick filter. These are all 1". What size do you have? Is your the round one? If so then your stuck with that one. But if its a regular square x 4" then there are options.
Check amazon, HD, lowes, etc... for deals on 4" filters.

These are great filters for those with older systems or need a filter that will not add as much stress to the HVAC system. I use these for my smaller filters.
But for those with multiple filters or newer systems with over sized filters the higher MERV filters, like this deal, works ok.
