For pickup I generally agree but most restaurants only use services for deliveries now.

I strongly suspect that Uber increases the price of each ride for customers with a gift card balance. I made the test multiple times with my wife. She doesn't have any gift card balance on her account while I usually do. Her rides are typically 10 to 15% cheaper than mines - we always check simultaneously when we need a ride at an airport etc...

What do you mean? It's just a gift card it should be valid for anything Uber related. I've used my balance before to pay my Uber one.

Honestly I stopped trying to convince ppl. The less ppl know the "hacks", the better. I'm on my 2 of 3 offers for 40% off and sometimes it works w/ restaurant specific offer and when GC is on sale, it covers any leftover fees and tip at least.

Maybe. But also female riders tend to be more desirable for drivers. So it might just be something in algorithm accounting for that. I'd be interested in checking it against another dudes phone.
