If you aren't comfortable or interested in refurbished models a new Pixel 8 is readily available on eBay new for $550, if you don't want to wait for the monthly price reduction to $550 on most major retailers.
For a price difference of $50 the reduced features are not worth the savings. This coming from someone who has purchased the Pixel 3a and Pixel 5a. The Pixel a series make sense when the price difference is $100 or more, not when it is $50.
I'm not a power user. The 2XL is more than sufficient for my needs. My original intent when purchasing it was to use it for just a year and then get a newer flagship. But I was so impressed with how snappy 2XL was that I decided not to get another phone.
It's cheap for a reason.

In any case with this phone done w/ updates in a little over a year maybe a few more bucks for an 8 series for folks who hold onto their devices may make more financial sense. Google just destroys resale value. When I bought P7P at launch and the 8 came out they were offering like $230 TIV and $300 for a bit so watch out. I upgraded to the 8 for a month and I couldn't deal with the continued modem issues and when the S24 came out I swapped it at AT&T. Best decision I have made in a few years but know the reason I moved to Pixel is because the S22 was such a POS. So I guess its model by model but outside the modem issues the 8 is an excellent phone...
I used this phone! Full of problems plus very weak tensor chipset! You can get waaaay better phones for this price on every category!!
Exactly! That's what preventing me to get this deal.
