this resolution seems pretty low for a 39" screen. Should probably go for 5120x2160 at this size.

5120x2160 seems to only be for 40" and higher. There are 38" monitors at 3840x1600, but as far as I know, no OLED monitors at this size and resolution. Also, since this is a gaming monitor, emphasis isn't on resolution.

Gotcha, thanks. If this was not curved - I'd bite.

There are only few flat 38+" Ultrawide (and those are from the second tier brand like Scepter or Philips), so you will have a hard time finding one. With that said, this one is more curved than the most in the market at 800R, so yeah, if curved is not your thing, this is certainly not for you. Even those who are used to curved, some of them will have a hard time adapting 800R.

Yeah the 800R curve ruins this screen for me. I would likely have bought this if it was an 1800R curve instead.

It's a deal but maybe not slick as the 45" version has been on sale for 909.99 couple months ago on LG website. Yes the resolution on 45" might be a little low at 1440p but it's still pretty good if you ask me. In fact I've been waiting for that deal forever! A little opposed to OLED but the size and resolution would've been perfect for me.
