It used to be a lifetime warranty. It no longer is.

I have a 7' med bass something. The rod cost about $100 but they will charge you $50 for a replacement.
They sent the whole rod, not just broken section. Just take pictures and sent in. Take a couple weeks. Did it recently about 2-3 months ago. It used to be $25 for a replacement section for my particular rod.

Fair warning I have ordered 4 st. Croix rods from amazon. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. They come broken, snapped in 2 or 3 pieces. St. Croix themselves ships in a hard cardboard tube. Amazon takes them out and ships in weak long card board boxes. At least this is my experience, hope it doesn't happen to anyone here...

I just don't trust Amazon for sending rods. They will send them in long cardboard boxes and not the hard tubes. You may or may not get a broken rod. If you return it, they will impound your refund for at least 30 days after they receive it to "inspect" the merchandise before authorizing a refund.

Amazon shipped an Okuma to me a couple months ago. Folded about 3/4 ways down on the box. I couldn't believe it was in one piece when it was opened up.

For anyone who isn't aware - St. Croix quality has gone off a cliff in recent years. I've had nothing but bad experiences with all my recent St. Croix purchases. Reel seats that fall apart day 1. Tips that fray and snap just from casting, all sorts of issues. From their ice rods all the way up to the most expensive Legend Xtreme rods.

You'll hear St. Croix diehards brush away these concerns and talk about how good the warranty is. The replacement will cost you $50 and you'll be lucky if you get it before the season is over.

I don't touch St. Croix anymore, even with deep discounts. Too many better options at every price point.
