Cause it is an artificial sine wave. It is not messed up. It'll be fine for laptops and other electronics.

You clearly haven't a clue what you're talking about…. Only times it makes a rats ass difference is direct drive of an AC motor and some PFC PC PSUs, neither of which will ever be powered by this 175W inverter.

Do your homework next time before posting.

Nice! If you're looking for just the inverter then Home Depot has their hack deal with the portable light. I got the inverter for $60 before tax. Just sharing.

So you're saying I'm wrong, and the sine wave isn't messed up, or I'm wrong and I do trust it with my devices?

You have microwave that is only 175W? Most home microwaves are around 1000w

If you're ok with a messed up sine wave, that's your prerogative. No need to be a dick about it just because I'm letting people know it's messed up so they can decide for themselves.
what devices would be OK with the crap sine wave?

Nice! You just saved me having to buy another battery. I even checked hd and saw the deal but spaced on the hack option. $59.48 should be front page for this tool-it's super handy.

Most devices would be OK with it. The two big no-no's most sites reference are devices with AC motors, and medical equipment. In the last year, the only devices I plugged into my portable battery are a fan (to quickly dry an area away from an outlet) and scientific equipment (that is full of medical-grade custom electronics). I would rather not guess which devices would be destroyed, so I stopped buying modified sine wave inverters.
