  • Keep Ice Cream Frozen】With a powerful compressor, the lowest temperature for this 12 volt refrigerator can be down to -8°F. You can get a refrigerator or freezer by adjusting the temperature(-8℉~50℉). The portable refrigerator for car has two cooling modes, including MAX(fast cooling) and ECO(energy saving). There is no need to buy ice, and you can keep ice cream frozen and store fresh food like cheese, drinks, vegetables, muffins, and snacks.
  • Proven Door Design】Compared with the lid that needs to be pressed, the door of the F40C4TMP 12 volt portable freezer has better sealing performance and durability. You don't need to worry about the leakage of cold air caused by the door not being closed tightly, which helps reduce energy consumption.
  • Consumes 1 kWh Per Day】The rated power of the 12V truck refrigerator in MAX mode is 45W, which consumes less than 1kWh per day. H/M/L 3-level battery protection function prevents a dead starter battery, giving you valuable peace of mind while cooling for long periods. The LCD display panel can help you set the temperature in a dimly lit environment. You can also charge your phone when needed with the USB charging port.
  • Good Choice For Camping】Capacity: 30 Quart(28L); External dimensions: 22.68*12.6*15.5 Inches. OOS for that Newair model, so not very helpful.
I don't keep track of stock. It's helpful if you don't need it RIGHT NOW. It's a popular product for them; it'll be back in stock.

Is it okay to close the subtrunk without venting it if putting it in there?
One manufacturer has a model specifically for the model Y. They include little blocks that stay on the ridge of the subtrunk edge to keep the subtrunk platform raised on all sides for airflow. Personally I would just make a small spacer to add to the sides of the subtrunk edge

Good option to use this as a bedroom fridge plugged directly into wall? Then have option to use it on car roadtrips?
Absolutely! I've totally used my 48qt to store ice cream and snacks by my recliner when I first got it. "for testing purposes"

Currently that same fridge/freezer is in the van connected to the ecoflow and has been for the last 3400 miles of the road trip we're wrapping up.

Would recommend for that exact dual use case.

Do you have the newer model y that runs off a 16v battery or the older 12v?

edit: NVM, irrelevant because the fridge supports 12V/24V
Does not mean it supports 16v

Any practical use for this? Seems like a tub full of $5 ice would work just as well, bo?
Really depends on specific use cases. I have a different electric compressor portable fridge that I always keep in the trunk but only power it on when I have leftovers or buy milk or popsicles on a whim, which then allows me to stay out longer and not have to go straight home immediately.

For camping use, I can see a big pack of ice working just as well as these but you have to consider how much extra space the ice would take up in a normal cooler.

But as you stay out longer, if you are making stops, you'd have to leave your car running in order to keep it cold. That's my problem with these things.

Certain cars keep the lighter outlet on even with the car off. My cooler has a low voltage detector to auto stop itself from sucking the battery to dead.

I actually bring a Bluetti EB3A to power the fridge as an alternative to using up the car's 12v.

I'm not even going to open the link but am going to share a few things I've learned about these in general.

The storage compartment is smaller than you think. These are a little deceptive and usually take the outer dimensions as the size. The insulation makes this kind of thick.

I've also learned the types with 2 compartments so you can have a fridge and freezer at the same time really bite into that storage space. Personally I like a single compartment and choose a fridge OR freezer.

I have the bougee rv version and it says it takes 45watts. So a single 100watt should be plenty and get a battery
Good info, thank you.
What size / type battery?

Sorry mine has a built in battery option (its expensive though)
I'd recommend something else like this with a solar pannel connected.
https://www.amazon.com/EF-ECOFLOW...B0B8MXPRDB Thats way more portable and can power multiple things as well.

Word of caution. I scored the 48qt Newair unit 7 months ago and it sent me down a rabbit hole.

A month or two later I semi-converted my old CR-V into a part-time camper with with a portable 200w solar panel, 100ah LiFePO4 battery, Victron 75/15 MPPT solar charge controller, a roof basket, an awning, heated blanket for colder nights, etc.
