He saved up some money and we're paying the rest for some personal milestones he's hit. Gaming has been a big part of my life for 40 years and I'm happy to share that interest with him.

Why? This system will actually run fine under 500w? I couldnt make this system use more than that under any situation... 600w gives you plenty of room

Total:347W
Intel Core i5-13400F 2.5 GHz 10-Core Processor8W - 148W
Gigabyte B660M DS3H AX DDR4 Micro ATX LGA1700 Motherboard15W - 60W
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory14W
Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive2W - 10W
Asus DUAL OC GeForce RTX 4060 8 GB Video Card28W - 115W

I am interested in getting one of these PC's for my son for his birthday.

I already have this one sitting in my closet from Costco...
https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/951480

But I can get this one via EPP for 724.00.
I think this one looks cooler, but it does have less ram and no extra hard drive space besides the 512MB of SSD.

What do you guys think ?
I have had bad luck with HP PC's in the past, but I have read a lot of good things about the OMEN line and I have never owned Cyberpower before.
My bad...this is the one I got.

Not bad but ideally you want at least 750 psu with this setup and also 32gb ram if possible that would make this 9/10'worth it. 6/10
No you don't. Stop pulling numbers out of your ass lol.

A good catch! If you are thinking about a dual or triple monitor setup, this is not it. The GPU must be made for HP, and to save money, they probably put only 1 DP.
It has 1 HDMI and 3 DP. I dunno why ppl feel the need to make up shit lol.

I guess I don't understand. I currently have 4 HP gaming PCs. 2 of them bought 2019 one 2017 and one 2022 and all three still work great. I guess I'll never learn?

Well...you do have to make sacrifices when you get something cheaper. Having said that, I got the Cyberpower I posted for 699.00.

You can't build ANYTHING with those Specs that is better and there is nothing proprietary with it. But feel free to spend weeks researching parts, trying to find the best deals and then building it.....so countless hours to pay MORE money overall. And dont get me started if something doesnt work...Sounds like a great use of time ! LMAO

yeah with 4 pc's their use time and on/off cycles probably arent much seeing as you solely own and i guess use them all. and yeah 3/4 still work great huh sounds about right.

a lot of us are fed up with planned obsolescence brands like hp and dell and are simply spreading the word.

you wont get a 10 year warranty on the psu with this unit like you would building your own with a good psu.

I said that wrong. all 4 work just fine. two of them are used daily by teenagers who play fortnite and other games non stop, one is by an 9 year old who has my old one I used to game and stream on. Mine newest is running great. I guess I've gotten lucky this time around.
