Thermalright Peerless Assassin looks way better and smokes this cooler's performance at $35. You're paying the CoolerMaster name brand tax.
CoolerMaster rated at 150w, but Peerless Assassin 120 SE is rated at 265w. That's a crazy difference in performance for the same price.
I think it's a part of what Newegg buys, it keeps this site free to us.
But thanks for pointing out that thermalright heat sink. I don't recall knowing about it when I built a system a few years ago. I'll have to keep it in mind for the next build as it looks like a serious contender.

I second the comment about thermalright is the cooler to beat for price to performance. I just bought LGA 1700 i9 and was planning on using be quiet dark rock pro 4 which I had lying around as back to my AIO and found our the hard way I have to shell upwards of $15 for a stupid accessory to use it with LGA1700 which made me discover the thermalright. It performs even better than the almost $100 cooler.
Regarding this site, I hope they are already making a ton of money with just referral links besides the now frequent buy to post listings, so I do not believe we should be expected these shill posts even though the site is free for us to use, and in all fairness, they get a lot of traffic for serving ads and getting referral money already.

I'm not sure thats what keeps the site free as everything is an affiliate link, Slick deals gets commision for every sale and even if you click on the link to check outthis cooler but don't buy it but happen to be say oh while I am here on Amazon I need new socks and buy socks instead of the cooler you clicked on they get commision for that sale too because they directed you there Of course advertisers pay for deal posts and there is more advertising on the side panels but all of that is just icing on the affiliate cake IMO.
