I redeemed, and was purchasing costco.com egift card. Got denied. So I logged into giftcards.com, and type in the 16 digit card number + CVV, website says: "No card found with these details. Please check the details and try again, or contact customer service". WTF??

If the virtual Visa card you just purchased here was declined by the merchants, it is possible that your card may not been activated and registered with your billing address though it was supposed to do so as part of your redemption process.

As another member mentioned in this thread, this also happened to me. I have purchased more than 30 cards at giftcards.com, this is the first time that my card was declined at the websites where cards from giftcards.com used to work. It appears that the initial card registration during card redemption was not completed due to their internal system issue but the status was not sent back to the UI to re-try.

Here is what I learned and hope it will help someone.

- If you card was declined, call 877-944-3822. Select * to talk to the customer service.
- The automated system will ask you to input your card# and security code. Then it will tell you if your card is active or not. If your card was not activated, it will activate for you. By now, you should know if you were also affected by their internal system issue during the initial registration process.
- If your card was not activated during the initial registration process, your billing address would be empty. You do need to proceed and talk to customer service asking to add your billing address and phone number to each card. In my case, I was on hold for 15 minutes, but the CSR was patient and friendly. There is no way to add you address through self service since the UI considers you have already done that in your redemption process.

At first, I did not realize the root cause of my card was declined was their internal system issue during my initial registration process. I tried to use my card again after their automated system activated my card without holding for a CSR to add my address. I ended up getting my card declined again. Most of the merchants do require you to have a matching billing address registered on the card.

Infinite loop not working this time around. Can't seem to add these cards to PayPal. No go on Google Pay either, because I think they're just passing the credit card number straight through (though the lack of a split option makes that option bad anyway).

Finally figured it out. You need to uncheck the "use as debit card" in Amazon app to be able to process the payment

I tried this on their last deal during christmas. they block you from buying giftcards using a prepaid (like this)

Wasn't able to add the card to Paypal as a payment method. Never had this problem with prepaid cards before, but the trend seems to be these are less and less accepted. Still was able to use to pay utilities

Must include at least one virtual gift card for the promo code to apply. Was going to get physical ones as gifts since virtual ones are difficult to drain down online unless there are split payment options.

I bought the max (3) w/ checkout via PayPal Mastercard to get an additional 3% cash back

I'm glad that this promo is for virtual gift cards and not physical cards

Not only are e-gift cards easier to copy and paste #s (to pay my cell phone bill for $100) but we also don't need any more one time use plastic filling our oceans
