Phenomenal film from an amazing director. If you like Black Swan, you'll love this. Hits many similar nots. In fact, Black Swan's director, Darren Aronofsky cited it as an inspiration for another of his films, Requiem For A Dream: https://animationobsessive.substa...rfect-blue (spoiler warning).

I love this movie. But it may be because it was my first Satoshi Kon film and I had no idea what to expect going in.

Aronofsky recreated a couple of scenes straight from Perfect Blue in Requiem and Black Swan.

I saw perfect blue after a lot of other satoshi kon films, so I don't have nostalgia goggles for it, and I can say it's one of his best works.
