I also have a Lenovo Slim 9. I'm typing on it now. It is also very good. It is heavy, it has a big power brick and lasts about 3 hours on battery. It has a better GPU and screen. I love it. But I use it as a desktop replacement.
I don't regret either purchase. But, they each have a different purpose.

Pros:
Incredibly lightweight
Perfect screen setup: 16:10 screen aspect ratio and 2560 x 1600 resolution, trust me you won't go back to 16:9 or 4k/8k battery-sucking screens after this
Great keyboard with good key travel
Good battery life
Cons:
Can feel a little flimsy because of the lightweight design
Not the top-performing CPU/GPU
The screen can be a little brighter at max
I too used to be ignorant to the value of Grams and their reduced weight. You have to have owned one to understand.
If you're just buying it to be a desktop replacement and it's going to primarily sit "docked", this is definitely not the laptop for you.

You're paying for the lightness of the machine. The gram's were noticeably lighter than their competition at the instore display the other day.
