I'd rather mount it to the window, than the vents. I puchased a highly rated vent phone mount and from road dips or stress from a larger 6.4 inch phone, it caused my vent to snap off. Kind of an expensive repair in my late model car, so I'm only using window mount from now on. Just my experience with vent mounts.

I bought one of these (not sure if it's the exact same one), but there's a lot of arm play and moves quite a bit left to right when you turn. Now i'm use to reaching out and holding it in position every time i make a turn.

This is a window or dash mount. They give you the additional option of mounting it on the vent.
