"Our supercharged Protein Oats pack 10 grams of protein per serving from just one simple ingredient—whole grain rolled oats—with no added protein powders. Instead, they're grown from a special conventionally bred variety that is higher in protein and less processed than traditional oats"
These oats have double the protein as regular oats (~10g vs 5g per serving), but that means they are much harder than regular oats. At about 4x the price of Kirkland rolled oats and harder to work with, I would go with regular oats and add more milk/yogurt/whey if you want the additional protein

I got this in my last S&S for $20. I usually get steel cut oats so these are more mushy, but still good. It's almost double the protein which I assume is from GMO (which I have nothing against). Here's the recipe for my go to breakfast. So yummy! https://www.pressurecookrecipes.c...t-oatmeal/[pressurecookrecipes.com]
They're NonGMO Project Certified.
'selective breeding of crops' is how it was explained to me.
I get that SD has become a mockery of what it once was.
But oatmeal? at over $3 a pound?
On the front page. What a joke.
Walk into your local co-op or bulk foods store and buy it for $1-2 everyday, I see it as low as 25cents, or a restaurant supply store for about .75 (I but Bob's through instacart and a 25# bag costs about $21)
Gluten free stuff usually commands a premium in price
The co-op/bulk food options are not gluten free and are processed on shared equipment. That doesn't work for anyone with a gluten allergy or Celiacs. $3 a pound for GF oats is a decent deal.
Oats are gluten free.
I can see a celiac not wanting by anything in bulk. Lots of other options. And no it's not in any way a good price.

Oats are gluten free, unless they are processed in a shared facility along with wheat and other products on the same machines. That is why Bob's as two lines of the same product, one is GF and one is not. The GF versions are always more expensive. It's a good price for this product, but obviously not for everyone.

Wrong. Most oats that are tested have wheat mixed in with them. Due to growing alongside wheat, and being transported in the same trucks that transported wheat. For someone with a wheat allergy, this cross contamination could mean death. Certified gluten free oats cost a lot. This is a great deal.
You don't need to buy this over priced crap. Just get regular plain flavored oatmeal and mix it with a scoop of protein powder. This is marketing garbage. If you have regular plain flavored oats from any company they are all equally the same. The ingredients will just say "oats" and that's it. It's absurd they call this "High Protein". A meal with high protein would have at least 40 grams of protein in it.
So, ounce for ounce, these have more protein than the competition.
Do you think they're lying about the protein content on the nutrition label? Because that would be very illegal, and very unlike Bob's Redmill Products.
"However Protein Oats are a unique hull-less oat cultivar that does some of the work for the farmers! As they grow, these oats shed their hulls during harvest. Because of this, these oats are less processed, with fewer steps between farm and table."

Boiling water separately is also easy enough. Or keurig.
Didn't see anyone else post this.
