Awesome setup, but ridiculous at the same time. If it was $150, I'd say go for it because it'd cost you $100 and take a whole day to make.

I love *some* of Incra's stuff, but this is just one of those "Why?" Things. But, it will match your wall if Woodpeckers stuff that will make you admired by other YouTube watchers 🤣 🤣

I buy the cheap Woodpeckers lookalikes from Ali Express so I can feel fancy. I call them my Poodweckers.

I have a Harvey MG-36 miter guage. Is there any benefit to buying this other than the indexing at like every degree on the protractor?

Most likely not. The benefit of the Miter 5000 is that it is the nice INCRA miter gauge slapped onto a crosscut sled. The 1/2 degree precision is nice I'm sure, but overkill for most. A cursory glance at that Harvey MG-36 makes it seem like like it has feature parity with the INCRA Miter 3000SE.

Were I inclined to go viral I'd be looking to pay for this by attaching it to my well-worn Craftsman table saw I bought for $20 on Craigslist.

I'd largely agree that many of the people most capable of benefitting from this design would likely have the ability to produce it for themselves. But that's also why hacks like me don't mind a slightly bent table saw that cost around a double sawbuck...

Good luck!
Jon

Slightly bent table saw? I am sure it can be adjusted.

Because I'm nothing if not pedantic... $20 is a double sawbuck. I'll save you from having to read my dissertation on how that slang came about. Wink
