I bought similar from Walmart a while ago, didn't squeak mostly. Until after a year started hearing something then had to tight those nuts a bit and all good. Been using it for 3 years but I was worried for the same reason. I am looking at it just due to the headboard, mine one is all metal and have bumped my head a few times.

I've a queen sized version of this that I bought off Amazon a few years ago. It's a guest bed and doesn't get used much, so I haven't had any issues with it. I like it, it's cute.

I like most Zinus stuff ok, but their slatted frames leave a lot to be desired. I had a queen size in my guest room that a couple 30ish lb kids decided to play and jump on until they heard a noise. 4 slats broke in half.

To their credit Zinus did warranty it, but I wouldn't be confident using one as an adult.

I have this frame. It's been solid, even after three moves in two years. No creaks at all.

Use locktite when you put the bolts in, mostly solves this issue

Anyone know if you can take the headboard off and use just the frame with a different headboard?

I have a similar Zinus king size bed frame been using just over a year now and haven't had any issues with it at all.

I was honestly surprised by the quality, it is very sturdy. I had previously assumed they were a cheap low quality brand and was avoiding them. I ended up getting the bed frame for free from a coworker who bought it and decided they didn't want it after the return period closed. It was still brand new in the box.

I was just planning on using it until I found a better frame, but we've been really happy with it and are just gonna keep it at this point.

I have one of these, it's not that bad. Sometimes your ankles hit the corners and that'll leave a mark. It's got this sticky stuff to keep your mattress in place which is kind of a pain when it's time to spin it. The velcro that holds the slats down comes up because the sticky stuff is too powerful.
