This is why I would always buy a new oled with full warranty.

Assuming the monitor is in great shape this is truly a slickdeal! I paid retail for this monitor and it's fantastic.

For anyone who buys it, make sure to complete a firmware update which allows to enable/disable DolbyVision. It's a joy to use for both gaming and productivity!

How do fonts look in windows on the OLED screens? I set up a laptop with a WRGB OLED screen and couldn't get the things to look sharp. Cleartype doesn't do squat. QD-OLED has a triangle shaped RGB pixel array and I'm curious how that translates with fonts.

A lot of these monitors arrived with scratches on the screen and then were returned, I'm willing to bet that's what these are.

Most people should just get the msi 321urx that retails for $950

I have it. To my eyes fonts look super clear, almost like a Mac monitor. Leagues above my old Samsung G7.

For context, I used to work at HP in manufacturing. Whenever a device is returned for any reason, whether it was unboxed or not by the receiver, as an OEM, once we opened it, repaired it, it's refurbished. However, there were plenty of times when assembly forgot to put a sticker on the back and the entire truckload had to be returned, opened up and sold as refurbished. Heck, even misprinted boxes were recalled and the device was sold as refurbished.

The warranty stinks, any ways to add one on top?

This. These are definitely just customer returns, before they finally put a screen film peel on it.

The MSI is the hardest to get. It was finally in stock for the first time this month yesterday at Newegg, but only for a few minutes. If you have a Micro Center close by, you can get one rather easily!

You are probably correct, but these are also factory refurbished. They most likely replaced the scratched film and can't resell them as new.
OR it's the remaining stock before they made the packaging change.
Either way, you'll probably get one that is "like new" or one that may have the scratches (if leftover stock). It can still be returned if anything is wrong or not up to your standards.

Yes. Most "Factory Refurbished" are like new condition and NOT customer returns. If they open the box for any reason after manufacturing, they can't sell it as new. If reconditioned by a third party, i.e. ebay, they just make sure it turns on and resell it.

In for one, thanks OP! Been waiting for a Memorial Day sale on these, which may never happen. Worth a shot and can be returned if not "like new".

Got one from Walmart about a week ago, supper happy with it. For me the deal breaker with Dell is that it doesn't support DP alt mode through USB-C and MSI does.
