Not really, no. Mosquitoes are not attracted to light, not in a meaningful way for a fire to deal with. They do use it for orientation and some species prefer day or night activity, but they aren't drawn directly to flame.

They're attracted to light and will burn and die and collect in the fire. So in a sense. But no it's not a mosquito repellent

I bought this one last year and it has been fantastic. My previous firepit was a faux stone top and warped and cracked and also stopped working entirely after half a year. This one has a metal top that has stood up great and works perfectly every time I've used it. Great price.
