As a PS5 owner and avid rocket player, I had two PS5 controllers go down with it in the first year lol. Also own a switch. Pro controller has been nice, joycons have been hot garbage. for whatever reason, this isn't just a Microsoft problem. all the major console brands have stick drift issues.

it's pretty sad when the funky mad catz controllers from 20 years ago are more durable than modern day controllers

It's ridiculous how much stick drift happens on Xbox controllers. Terrible quality. I have thrown out probably 3 controllers over the last 5 years.

I have all systems and they all use the same tech for their controllers and they all experience drift at similar rates. Xbox, Sony, Nintendo. All are guilty of it. Planned obsolescence. It is a shame.

yea maybe i'm not a hardcore gamer but i buy these controllers because i love the ergonomics, and none of my controllers have experienced stick drift, but maybe its the type of gamer, i dont do FPS on controller

whats better for the price? Can you swap in hall effect joysticks to this with a mod?

Both my partner and I have put Thousands of hours into our controllers (To the point where the analog sticks wear down to the plastic) and neither of us have Ever experienced "Stick Drift". There's a very specific style of player that runs into this issue, and it's certainly not everyone.

Half of my controller have. It's inherent; potentiometers have a duty cycle.

Microsoft's been leaning into repairability and sustainability, so I'm hopefully their rumored controllers either feature more robust hall-effect sensors, or have more easily swappable & calibratable potentiometers.

Just half a month until the announcement of the new xbox with new controller. They are clearing old stock at this point.

Same on PS5 though. My controller got it in less than a year via light use. 100~ hrs in the past year

My PS4 controllers with way more usage didn't even get any stick drift which is ridiculous.

Seems to be only the newer controllers with stick drift. My newest one bought a year ago has the drift problem. , but I have 6 older Xbox 360/One controllers which all still work like a champ.
