Never experienced stick drift in all of my years from Xbox to 360 to Xbox one x to series x
I did, that's why I'm here looking for a replacement.
As a PS5 owner and avid rocket player, I had two PS5 controllers go down with it in the first year lol. Also own a switch. Pro controller has been nice, joycons have been hot garbage. for whatever reason, this isn't just a Microsoft problem. all the major console brands have stick drift issues.
it's pretty sad when the funky mad catz controllers from 20 years ago are more durable than modern day controllers

All this talk about stick drift, the thing that kills me is joystick replacements aren't that hard but it's hard to get a controller at a price that is economical to repair. I bought like 10 PS5 joysticks to repair PS5 controllers for full desoldering and replacing. Unfortunately all but one potentiometer was fixed by isopropyl alcohol on a cue tip to the inside of the potentiometer. And now I just have a bunch of joysticks and no controllers to fix. And 4 working controllers I rotate around. I'd love to receive all these broken controllers people are talking about but it seems they sell like $20-$30. I'm not exactly into buying, fixing, warranting my work, selling, and shipping for at most $5 to $10 of profit.
To add on to this ...local repair shops charge $40-45 dollars to fix this issue....I have a box of about 20 controllers from past 6 years or so that I will eventually get around to fixing. Until then, keep buying them when these deals come around...some of these controllers go out within 2 months....bought a gold shadow version at Xmas and that was drifting by February
yea maybe i'm not a hardcore gamer but i buy these controllers because i love the ergonomics, and none of my controllers have experienced stick drift, but maybe its the type of gamer, i dont do FPS on controller
Yes, FPS is very hard on the sticks and accelerate the failure rate....I play COD, Gears of War and Call of Wild where you have to push down to run a lot...half of my Xbox controllers were toast within a few months, the other half maybe 6 months....my kids last longer due to the types of games they play
Stick drift has never been an issue on any of my xbox controllers. I had one Xbox One controller have the bumpers break and then the elite 2 is absolute garbage but for the most part the regular xbox controllers have been solid.
I still prefer my Razer Wolverine Ultimate (discontinued now) because of the extra buttons next to the bumpers
Verizon doesn't offer a third party extended warranty. I definitely flexed my Allstate warranty from a Walmart purchase 4 hears ago. Without that warranty this a $36 lease with an undetermined timeframe.
Truer words have never ever been spoken. I was just about to buy a couple of these and then remembered this fact due to your comment....will wait until Walmart has a deal around Black Friday...even if they are $40 or more, the 6 month "rental" before it breaks really only costs the $6 charge for the Allstate warranty...BECAUSE, it's GUARANTEED to break and you will get a refund of the price you paid for the controller
