Tried and seems like you don't have to tick those boxes.
EDIT: ops, my bad.
Seems like you do need it but I unchecked it as soon as I got the key.
I can't even link accounts after giving all of my privacy rights away. It just gives me a pop up that says:
Step 2 of 3
Please note that if you decide to unlink these accounts in the future, there is a 60 day waiting period before you can relink a new Steam Account to your Behaviour Account.
There is a Continue button that goes from red to white when I mouse over it, but clicking it does nothing. Clicking Cancel just takes me back to the main page.
To summarize:
1. This game began life as a completely separate thing
2. The company reskinned it to match one of its existing properties (Dead by Daylight)
3. They're giving it away for 'free' to collect your data
4. They will not be updating it or improving it
Comments are mixed, with some enjoying it while others saying it is shallow and unpolished.
I'll be skipping this one. It doesn't look interesting enough to deal with the excess hoops of creating and then opting out of data collection.
