Bosch makes great dishwashers but at the expense of making them more difficult to install then they need to be. Also not a fan of the top display "touch" controls or that the last few I installed for customers have the water inlet in the back with a bottom that extends to the floor making it very difficult to check for leaks after install. Plastic feet are also notoriously difficult to adjust

Costco also adds the extra year of warranty. Plus I believe their 800 model is the German made SHX78B75UC with a water softener built in which is usually only on the benchmark series.

I cannot recommend the Bosch 800 series dishwashers. Ours leaks rinse aid all over the dishes, the top (third) rack is absolutely useless with the under-powered top nozzle, and the drying system has failed on ours after about 3.5 years. Without the drying system, all cycles will fail with the E07 error code, regardless of dry setting. You can temporarily fix this by using a wet vac to suck the pooled water out of the right-side inlet. This fix lasts about 3-5 cycles.

Unfortunately, this dishwasher doesn't stand the test of time (<4 years).

I just wanted to clarify. I believe the Costco one is last year's model. In other words, one generation behind the one listed here.
That's correct. Plus they don't do installations in many areas.

Wait for Costco,,better price. Free delivery, installation and Haul away.
I doubt the price at Costco will get this low. I've been tracking the 800 for a while and this price is super low. Plus Costco is the older model and does not install in most areas. They state they do until you get to checkout

Love my Bosch. I've had it for 12 years. I needed to replace both of my racks (used for $125 each) bc I didn't address the vinyl damage soon enough. (Get the vinyl paint and caps to fix exposed rails.)

Anyways, aside from the racks, I also needed to solder in 2 new relays bc the water would not heat on cycle. You'll know bc the dishes will not be clean but slimy due to the grease. It was easy enough even though I'm not a good solderer.

I've owned whirlpool and other top brand, and by far, the Bosch is the best due to quietness and actually drying the dishes.

I know you did not just compare Bosch to LG and GE. This is the standard for dishwashers. It was between this and Kitchenaid 405 for me. Ended up getting the kitchenaid because it was $200 cheaper (from Costco). Cannot beat their "free" haul away and install honestly. Includes all parts needed as well.

If you install this yourself for $900 this is a great price. If you need a dishwasher this is the one you want.
So true. LG and GE are crap compared to this model. Yeah the LG might look cool, but they are horrible dishwashers. Unless you want to spend a fortune for high end appliances, buy Bosch for dishwashers and Speed Queen for laundry. FYI back on 2021 I bought the highest end KitchenAid dishwasher from Costco (went w that over the Bosch). The motherboard burnt out and I had to replace the dishwasher this month. Went w a Bosch this time.

Sales person said the in-store electronic price tag is updated in Atlanta. It showed $898 Special Buy. Initially, he was only able to see the higher price, but he eventually 'found it.' I think he did an internal log-in to the site. Successfully purchased in NY 5/21, no delivery fee but will come in June.

Here is a pic of the price tag at the store.

I'm using my handed down stainless kitchenaid til it dies. Just replaced the dispenser. Runs like a tired champ.

Just buy vinyl wrap from Amazon and stick it over. Super simple
You may be able to buy the parts from Bosch or an online parts store. I have the 300 series. For mine, there is a door panel (the main part of the door), part that fits over the controls area (mine has front controls), and the handle. Just look up the parts for that same model in the color you want. The issue is finding them in stock. Online retailers also sell door panel size magnets just for this purpose.

RE: Top Controls and 300 series. If 800 series is not available, check to see if the price of the 500 or 300 is discounted.

I bought the 300 series with the front controls instead of top controls. Since the 300 and 500 finish drying by popping the door open, I wondered if controls placed in that area would withstand the heat and steam as well as ones placed on the front of the door. I also thought it might be a tight fit to the top of the counter as well, which might damage the controls.

Not sure the touch controls will outlast the buttons longer, BUT I do like the updated look much better. The WiFi was also a nice feature I thought I wouldn't need, but it comes in handy as I can turn on the dishwasher that way too. With that said, I would have bought a less frills model (like the older style Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid that would last for 20 to 30 years) with a timer and a few push buttons if still available. Not as much that can go wrong.

I use sani, x-tra dry, and max rinse aid (it's not even the Turbo dry). Then I manually pop door open at the end.

I had mixed feelings on whether the crystal dry was worth it or not, but my dishes (mostly Corelle, metal, and glass) are dry even with the 300 series (the rack design, third rack, and stainless steel bottom were worth the < $700 price I paid over the 100 basic model). The inside of plastic is dry as well. Water may pool on the top of plastics where it can't run off. Just take a towel and do a quick swipe before putting away.

As it is the tray on the bottom (part of aqua stop feature?) may make a repair take longer, but it can save your floor too. Not sure how much more complicated the crystal dry feature makes it to do a simple repair like replace the circulation pump. I need to be able to make simple repairs myself. Since I've read earlier in this post crystal dry not working can throw an error where a temporary fix is required every few washes even to use the pop door option, I'm glad I just skipped it. With the newer type of controls, I'd be surprised if this lasts ten years but we'll see. So it's still the price difference every time I do have to replace these appliances. Seems like 5 to 10 years is the max life for our eco conscious standards now (yes, I am being sarcastic as I don't see how shorter life, running an appliance longer, etc. outweighs what they think the standard will save). I do feel Bosch is probably a little better quality than the newer model Maytag (chopper issues) or KitchenAid (leak issues, electronic failures, etc.) models that I was also considering.
