PSA: This is NOT BLACK. It's graphite. No matter how much amazon advertises as black it is NOT. It will not match the color of the keyboard by a large margin. Very bizarre design decision by Logitech to create a mismatched color write pad and keyboard :-\

got this for free with my mxkeys and I suprisingly like it. It's fairly thin but perfect for the mx keys.

Totally agree with this statement. I purchased from 5 different places, hoping to find a "black"one. Never was able to find one. Color not matching my black full size keyboard does irk me, but it's a perfect palm rest for the MX keyboard. At least it matches my graphite mini MX keyboard. For $10.00 it's a great deal, the perfect hight for the MX keyboard.

Nope. It's a separate piece that you can move freely. The bottom is a silicone-like material while the top part where your palms rest aren't as "sticky" but it's also a silicone-like material with some cushion for comfort.
