I guess you haven't been reading up. In the past couple of weeks, solar storms have enabled aurora borealis siting in north America as South as Alabama.

I have their 6L borealis sling bag that I think I paid like $60 for and I love it. Very high quality and a great bag all around. I also have a Patagonia 8L bag that I bought for around the same price and I find myself using the North Face bag 90% of the time.

I have the Recon, a very similar model. Excellent pack, the shoulder straps have a neat connection method that lets them rotate more. Good amount of pockets but not so many that it gets annoying. Bottom of bag is a thicker material that is waterproof or at least highly water resistant.

North Face - brand and quality is not the same since VF. Who likes everyday backpacks with all those stretch cords to get snagged everywhere.
