The three-month codes are a slightly better deal than the 1-month codes, as they come out to $11.66 a month for savings of about 30¢ over the discounted 1-month codes. Target also does not collect sales tax on these codes.

Note that if you do not currently have GamePass Ultimate, the GamePass Core to GamePass Ultimate conversion trick (step-by-step instructions here, with some additional context here) will still beat this pricing even with 12-month Core codes purchased at full price, as the trick will get you 24 months of GamePass Ultimate for $179.97, or about $7.50 a month.

Also note that the usual trick of using a VPN to redeem cheaper international GamePass codes is significantly less lucrative now, per this article from Eurogamer. [eurogamer.net]

My 3 year sub is running out on two of my accounts. I was curious if I could let it run out, wait a month, and then jump back on the 12-36 month trick?

If not, then I might have to bulk load another 12 months via these codes.


Note: I just followed your link and the last person mentioned that you can start over after your sub expired. Nice.

1. Make sure you don't have any game pass ultimate time on your account (either it is expired, or you have never had game pass ultimate before)
2. Buy the (3) 12-month Game Pass Core codes from Newegg
3. Redeem all three codes (you will now have Game Pass Core until 2027)
4. Buy a non-stackable 1-month Game Pass Ultimate code (I used Eneba and it was around $2.50)
5. Redeem the 1-month code and it will convert your 3 years Game Pass Core to 2 years (+ 1 month for the Ultimate code) Game Pass Ultimate

Ok Since you asked here is my play by play because I just did this 7 days ago on one of my xbox accounts that had no gamepass days left.


IMPORTANT: First of all you CANNOT have any game pass Core/ultimate time left on your account to get year 3 i.e all fully expired.

Step 1 purchase the 3x 12 Month India Game Pass Codes from Eneba.
I'm not trying to plug any seller on Eneba, but simply go to Eneba.com and search "12 months india game pass" as of writing this it is now @27.50 (I bought Best-Pick just saying what I bought not a plug.)
During Purchase it warns you that it is not for US Region and only India Region, it will also give you this warning when you go to view the code. I accepted the risk.

Step 2. I was on my PC (NOT MY XBOX), I changed my VPN to an India Region. Very important to verify you are actually on an India VPN. I always go to whatismyip website and confirm it says india.
I've had many situations where the VPN will say I'm connected to a particular country and yet WhatsMyIP says different. So I would disconnect VPN and reconnect until confirmed I'm on an indian server.

Step 3. Now that I'm on India VPN connection. Simply goto redeem.microsoft.com on your browser. Login into your xbox account. You will likely get a security challenge as you're now logging in from another country. I had to confirm an email link that microsoft emailed me, if you login twice it will force you to add your us phone number where it will text you (happened to me on my second login attempt).

Step 4: Paste in the 25-character India Gamepass code. There is 3 year limit so if you have even 1 day left on your xbox live/gamepass it won't let you redeem the 3rd year as that will take you over 3 years. Hence the warning at the top.

Step 5: Once you have redeemed all 3 years of Gamepass core. You don't need to buy another month or anything. All you have to do is switch back to the US connection (NO VPN) go back on your PC/Xbox and try to access an Ultimate Game i.e ROBLOX and you will told that you need ULTIMATE and there will be a link to upgrade to ULTIMATE. Once you click to upgrade to ULTIMATE you will get the 2 for 3 conversion warning. Accept and you are now on ULTIMATE for 2 years.

I didn't want to post this on FP, well because we all know the SD-Effect (Some newbie will call XBOX support and try to ask them how to redeem India codes and well you know the rest...Confused)

Where did you get the India codes? All I want is Gamepass PC, would that trick work to get 3 years of Gamepass PC? Did you redeem the codes on a PC?

You can extend Gamepass subscriptions out 36 months. If you attempt to go beyond that, you'll get an error saying to wait to use code.

So your method gives you two years of ultimate for $97.41.
The other method ($49x3 at Newegg + $2.50 @ eneba) is around $150 for two years.
I think the savings of $52 and change with your deal is pretty cool BUT needs a play by play rundown for how to accomplish it to get that $97 two year ultimate 🤜🤛 (because once you went vpn to India I was pretty much done and spending the extra $52 😆).
