I mean, buying a life jacket that doesn't fit is like buckling your seat belt and then sitting down on top of it. Sure, the car thinks you're buckled, but it's not going to save you in an accident.

Not sure what state you're referring to, in California - It is required to have a properly fitting PFD for each person: https://dbw.parks.ca.gov/pages/28...ipment.pdf

Yeah, nearly all states have now mandated life jackets that fit each person. Got randomly inspected and was good, but was given a card that stated the rules and states now requiring it

I'm pretty sure the Coast Guard requires the PFD to fit in any state that follows coast guard standards (read every state in the US).
