Herring? Yes. That's been well established. There's nothing in that article stating that this particular product is "safe to eat", though. Your intentions are good, but certain canned versions of fish actually aren't all that safe to eat. These supposedly are. I've eaten them (and survived๐Ÿ˜‰). It's just best to remain cautious when it comes to canned fish, as they're not all created equal.

The article you've posted has absolutely nothing to do with herring. I'm totally confused why you posted it. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Your point on the article I posted is well-taken however. I've edited my post.

Sardines are herrings, just younger and smaller.

I like sardines, but I like these much better. They are in a smokey, non oily liquid and taste great. These are solid pieces of herring, so you don't have to deal with the bones and innards.

It's like $2 at walmart for one can. I didn't know there was a canned fish flipper market.

I realize that it wasn't related to herring in cans. I was simply pointing out that not all fish in cans are necessarily safe....in the event that someone might make a broad assumption about fish in cans being safe to consume. Most are, but not all.

These, in particular, might be considered somewhat tastier than sardines (sardines in cans tend to be a bit bland)....but they have a somewhat smoky flavor and could be considered saltier than sardines in cans as well..
