For this price, with a warranty, and from a seller with 10k reviews that are 98% positive, I'd say this isn't terribly risky. If you'd rather buy new, Amazon is selling this model for $260 right now.

I had done the sideload hack to get the blood pressure monitoring working, but it was more trouble than it's worth to keep it working. You have to recalibrate it monthly and I just wanted to see how it worked, so I didn't keep up with it.

Well, registered mine on samsung. They asked for proof of purchase. Showed ebay receipt. Got approved. Warranty valid for 1 year now.

You have to dispute the warranty first.
Also the 7 series watches are right around the corner, meaning these will probably drop in price even further, on the flip side, you will probably get a decent upgrade trade in credit for this model if samsung's history of trade in deals is any indicator. I don't think I've spent more than $100 on a new "flagship" watch with trade-in/EPP. I REALLY hope the 7 has a pro-like version with the larger battery. I don't understand why they didn't make an equivalent in the 6 series. Some people just want longest battery life possible, even if it means forgoing some bells and whistles, especially in a watch.

I also got the galaxy Watch 6 Classic bundled with my phone but I gave that one to my brother because the battery life on the 5 Pro is much better. I do use a pretty basic watch face and I get about 3-4 days of battery life.
I never really use it without the phone but I do have the plan on it and the couple of times I needed it, it worked seamlessly.
