Steam is the world's largest digital distribution platform for computer games and is owned/operated by Valve Corporation (the developers behind several classic video games including Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress, Counter-Strike, Left 4 Dead, Dota 2 & more).
This is a weird game that requires you to commit a lot of mental space and plays with your head a lot. Meta.
The mechanics are kinda okay, but if you're an experienced MTG player or even Monster Train or Slay the Spire, you'll probably get bored with this before it gets weird.
Once the Pokemoning started, I got bored, but I read about what happens next and it's crazay.
I'm probably 6-7 hours in, going in blind. It's kind of weird because it's almost like you're supposed to lose...I'm unlocking parts of the story and new cards each time. But it's also kind of annoying and outstaying its welcome. I should be like 2 hours in versus the 7 that it's taken.
I absolutely love the atmosphere, quirky humor, aesthetics, the gameplay. I don't play games too much anymore (most are too boring these days) but this is kind of a unique gem in my opinion. Definitely worth the $8.
I won't spoil anything but this is a weird game in three parts. I kind of lost interest in the second part but there is an endless mode (called Kaycee's Mod but included in the game) that let's you play the first part endlessly. But I can see how the second part would appeal to a lot of people and from what I've seen online, the third part is more like the first but with evolved mechanics.

It follows the formula of many Daniel Mullins games, best to appreciate the meta and enjoy the ride. Like Pony Island.

This is a very good game if you're interested in (Magic/Pokemon-like) card games, puzzles, and a Stephen King-ish atmosphere.
