I have two RR6's and they are great. Great range and torque but they are heavy. Both of mine had the controllers fail within the first 100 miles. They send you a new controller but they are a pain to install.

They're "great" but also really heavy, have a 100% failure rate with light usage, and are difficult to repair? You and I have different thresholds for great for something that has an MSRP over $1500

It was $999 a couple days ago. Weird that it went up already

The $999 price was an alleged price error

How are these compared to Aventon? I heard there were some issues earlier with Rad bikes because of difficulty to repair because of custom parts.

Good question, I'd like to know the same.

Is the Aventon available at this price?

I test rode a few bikes this weekend in Huntington Beach. You will need your license and be age 16+, any age for passengers. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Not sure if you are talking about this model specifically or not. I have a 2019 Rad City that has been trouble free for over 6,000 miles.

I know there was an issue with the older Rad Wagon. Specifically they redesigned it to use a proprietary tire size, then they had some serious quality issues with the tires. Owners were left with bikes they couldn't ride for months while Rad got it sorted out because there weren't tires in that size available from other manufacturers. I believe this has all been fixed by now.

I would figure out where you would repair this bike before buying it. Some bike stores only service the brands they carry

how hard are these to put together? they offer "pro built" at local shop (foldable bike) for 200$. Is that worth it?

I have the older version of the expand and it's been mostly fine. Have some weird issues with spokes making noises but I think they sorted it out. The brakes were doable but weaker than I would have liked at the time. I also think they might have sorted this issue out.

All in all I have a few thousand miles on it after many years usage. I'd recommend.

Assembly was basically putting on the pedals, front handlebars, and front tire if I recall.
