My 12v Ridgid drill does fine with the spade bits even on my old hard as rock dimensional lumber used in my house.

Might have trouble with the auger bits though. Not sure.

My brushed m12 will do at least 5/8" without much fuss so long as I've got a pilot hole. Haven't tried anything bigger yet, however.
If you've got brushless m12, I don't see that you'd have issue so long as you don't rush it and use a pilot if possible.

Built some carpenter bee traps yesterday using my M12 with a 3/4 spade bit, no issues at all.

My m12 fuel stubby has been great for 1" spade holes through studs.

Had. Past tense. It's been gone for quite a while now.
