The still image quality is awesome, however you'll find yourself limited as there's only a button to "grab still" and not a full-on photo mode. The shutter is very slow, so it's really only good for reference stills, and not for anything that required precise timing. I've used this on several shoots for food photography as the image quality has higher dynamic range than my 5d mark iii, and the ability to reference is significantly greater on the BMPCC6k.

Edit: this is a very small jpg, the image quality is significantly better than what I can upload here.

Also note that this comes with DaVinci Resolve Studio. Excellent editing software which costs about $300 by itself.

Most tempting offer for something I don't need in awhile.

I got my answer, thanks. I am just saying from a user who is looking for a ff camera which i can take on all my trips and take still videos. This looks to be perfect for the video production and streaming. There are other limitations as well what i saw with bad EVF as well. My search continues….
For a camera for traveling that's compact, there are much smaller options:

- God level image quality - Sigma FP. EVF is a separate attachment.
- Vlogging: ZV-E1: FF, no EVF, relies on auto-focus
- All-around use: Nikon Zf (FF + EVF), Fuji XT-50 (APS-C + EVF)

Just get L mount to EF adapter and get cheap used EF lenses which are plentiful. Or old Nikon glass.

Been in the market for a blackmagic 6k for a few weeks, but I already bought some EF lens because I had come to the conclusion that the full frame was out of my price range 🤦
life would be a lot easier if they just knocked the 6k pro down to this price
You can get EF to L adapter and use all the EF lenses. Good thing is this camera has full frame and crop sensor modes. Used EF lenses are a lot cheaper than L mount lenses.

I wish I knew more about using equipment like this for videography/photography to buy this camera. Seems like a really good deal

I'm a one man army and want to just make vlogging videos at home. I was considering the fx30, I have a d750 for photos already and a few lenses.

But this deal is super tempting especially since it comes with davinci. I was really hoping to have shared glass with my friend's sony compact, but I think this maybe better for me and to get the 28-70mm sigma...

Not sure how much no autofocus is going to be a big deal, not like my d750 had it and I used it to make videos too.

No auto focus, no IBIS, must have SSD attached for 6K. This is a production team camera. Still very tempted

40% off less than a year after release makes me think they aren't selling many of these.

I was really tempted to get the BM6KPRO and ended up with the Canon R5C, I didn't know about this new version, but its a shame they changed the lens to L mount instead of keeping EF else I think I might get it just to try it out.

Why are people buying cinema cameras for streaming?

Its really easy to adapt EF to L mount. Over half of my lenses that I use on my S5 are EF lenses.

Either get a basic $20 adapter, or buy the sigma adapter that lets the camera read the lens data + autofocus.

We've never used their cameras for webcasting, but I use one of their switchers. How nice is the picture on this for streaming?
Amazing but get a good capture card. It would lag out on my elgato 4K usb capture dongle.
