if you don't care about ray tracing, this is a nice price -- if you do, I'd piece out a build with a 4080 super. you'll pay a bit more, but the 7900xtx falls behind in ray tracing pretty notably

if you mainly stick to esports titles like valorant, apex, league, fortnite, this is not the worst you could do

Is this any good for a teen that plays Call of Duty, American Truck Simulator, Fortnight, Minecraft.
Also into photography and videography. Help a clueless mom out

Probably overkill for those particular games, but at least this system will last them 4-5yrs before needing to upgrade

The link is showing an AMD Ryzen™ 9 7900, not the 7900X.

For a prebuilt, this is a good deal. The 64gb ram seems a bit overkill for most users but there's a few niche situations you might use it. I'd personally upgrade to 2TB storage as it's been the sweet spot for me. Overall, if you're trying to avoid the hassle of building, want max settings on any game at 60+FPS (even 120 for some) at 4k, and Ray-tracing isn't crucial for your experience, this build seems like the right choice.

Anyone concerned about it should check the PSU and how cooling is with this model as I'm uncertain.

Hi. How good is this PC for deep learning and machine learning projects when compared to 4080? I realized i need more vRAM and this GPU says 24GB. Am I looking at the specs correctly? Please suggest

Or you have the 57 Samsung and want to get 240hz.

"Not the worst" lol. It's actually great. Not everyone who games is a professional gamer. This is better than what 99% of gamers need.

It is overkill but your teen will probably prefer an Nvidia because of extra features. The Rtx 4070 TI super would be my recommendation

This is terrible advice. Why would they pay the same for an inferior card?

Let me fix that for you: "If you mainly stick to esports titles like valorant, apex, league, fortnite, this is" the very best you can do without spending an additional $1000.

The only GPU better than the RX 7900 XTX in raw performance is the RTX 4090, which costs twice as much.

If you are playing valorant, apex, league, fortnite on this…you wasted your money.

It seems that your teen likes online gaming, for which this system is perfectly suited. As mentioned earlier, it would be overkill, but that also means this system should last you a while. $1745 is a very good price for what you're getting.

The defining piece of hardware in this computer is its video/graphics card (GPU). The AMD RX 7900 XTX is the second-best GPU for competitive, online gaming, behind the Nvidia RX 4090. (But the 4090 costs twice as much.)

Around the same price point as the RX 7900 XTX is the Nvidia RX 4080 Super. The 4080 performs slightly worse, while typically costing at least an extra $100. But the 4080 performs much better than the 7900 XTX when enabling the relatively new rendering technique called ray tracing (https://developer.nvidia.com/disc...ay-tracing). They both do ray tracing, but Nvidia's products are much better at it.

Ray tracing affects performance significantly because it's resource intensive, reason why competitive, online gamers keep it disabled. But ray tracing is perfectly fine for non-competitive gaming, where visual quality/fidelity is paramount. Sadly, in many (not all) games, ray tracing does not make a noticeable difference in image quality. There is a difference between what it can do (awesome stuff) and what it actually does (due to current hardware and software limitations, relatively poor implementation by some game developers, etc.).

Personally, I would go with an Nvidia 4080 Super over the AMD RX 7900 XTX for a variety of reasons. But that choice would depend on price. (I managed to get a 7900 XTX for cheaper, and I'm very happy with it.)

PS: This build would be very good for video editing.
