  • The science of emotion is in the midst of a revolution on par with the discovery of relativity in physics and natural selection in biology. Leading the charge is psychologist and neuroscientist Lisa Feldman Barrett, whose research overturns the long-standing belief that emotions are automatic, universal, and hardwired in different brain regions. Do you consider accounts from 2008 and 2015 "new"? The only positive comment from a new user is by an account created last Nov, but they also have like 85 comments on various threads. Not sure your theory holds water.

I'm a psychologist and I'm very critical of a lot of mainstream psychology, but I've heard great things about this woman's work from people I trust.

Highly recommend the read and then the conversation she does with huberman on his podcast. I'm a social worker by trade and also recovered from a tbi (left rear brain bleed after fall) her concepts about emotions and emotional granularity were instrumental in helping me relearn my own emotions.

Thank you for sharing. Recovering from any brain injury is a beyond a challenge. I wondered if this book was hyperbole but your post helped me (also recovering from a TBI).

Maybe not, but it holds urine, and they're both liquids so that kinda sorta counts.
