For anyone who doesn't know, this is THE quintessential g-shock. It pays tribute to the second g-shock model the dw-5200 that was in the iconic hockey puck ad in 1984. That watch was the watch that saved g-shock and was nicknamed "Hero".
The 5600 was first released in the late 80s and has been in many movies including "Speed" in the early 90s. That movie helped the model catch on with the public.
The watch is rated to 200m water resistance and is tough as nails. Holds the record for surviving being run over by the heaviest truck. It's NASA certified and has been to space many times.
The reason it is on clearance is there is a newer version that has a white LED backlight instead of the classic green electroluminescence. I like the look of the traditional green light better, but the new version has improved battery life.
The biggest negatives of the 5600s in my opinion is the adjust button on the top left is very recessed to prevent accidental button press. This makes it very difficult for some people to press. I had to spend a long time figuring out how to press it with my thumb finger nail. Also, the replaceable battery is only rated for 2 years. But many people get 5 and even more. It depends how much you use the backlight etc

As somebody who has a watch collection, I would like to add that a lot of the negative comments being made here are due the the very limited aesthetic appeal of this watch. Most people are going to think this is unfashionable or straight-out ugly. Since this is a money saving site, ask yourself if you actually do things where you won't carry your phone and you need something durable to be able to tell the time. Or, if you must be able to quickly glance at the time on your wrist and will be in adverse environments. That is what this is useful for...that is its value. Don't expect compliments and don't expect it to add aesthetic appeal to your outfits.

I wear my Gshock pretty often knowing how reliable and indestructible it is, my Apple Watch spends most of the time collecting dust. When I want a retro look then I go for the CA53W
