Happened to find this Sonos in-wall speakers on sale at my local Best Buy (midtown Manhattan).

Didn't have any in stock, but was able to order through a sales associate at the discounted price.

For non-Sonos enthusiasts, these are regular in wall speakers that need an amplifier, specifically the Sonos AMP if you're in the Sonos ecosystem. The architectural line of "In-Wall Speakers by Sonos and Sonance" are the only speakers that support support True Play tuning when paired with a Sonos Amp.

when speakers are in the wall, if they rumble is there more of an effect on hearing it on the other side of the wall??

Calling these Sonos is misleading to say the least. They are made by Sonance. They are also passive, so they need to be connected to an amplifier and thus will not connect to a Sonos system without a Sonos-compatible amp.

I wish the round ones we're on sale and I would have upgraded my kitchen speakers. I bought a few pairs to figure out if I had a project I could make from them haha.

I disagree since they're made specifically for Sonos and are the only speakers that support TruePlay on a Sonos Amp (but we're all entitled to our opinion).

I updated the main post to more clearly specify the need for an amp for folks that are not as well versed in the Sonos ecosystem.

I can't claim to know the business relationship between Sonos and Sonance, but the correct brand name of this product is Sonance, not Sonos. I have a Victrola brand turntable that is made specifically for Sonos, and if Best Buy sold it as a Sonos turntable, that would also be misleading.

In wall speakers typically have less bass response when compared to the same speaker in a cabinet. That being said, a speaker in the wall will likely be audible to someone in the adjacent room if that is what you are asking (just the noise in general, not a rumble specifically).
