Year one has been fine. The shelves aren't adjustable, which is dumb and the only light is at the very top. So if your fridge is packed (around the holidays for me), it can get pretty dim on the bottom rack. Also, the light for the freezer is on the bottom of the fridge door, so if you have both open then you have no light in the freezer. Bad design but not a deal breaker for me. I did learn that the machines are rebranded Daewoo, who isn't known for their longevity. Idk if this has the water dispenser, but it'll accept Daewoo filters which are way cheaper than the Insignia filters.
Biggest issue we had was we wanted to use the 'Energy Saving Mode'. It obviously raises the minimum temperature and as a result our milk went bad within a couple of days before we figured out the problem. We went back to regular mode and haven't had any issues.
At this price, it's an easy recommendation as long as you get the warranty and prepare yourself for potentially needing to replace it within 6ish years.
ALL my appliances are plugged into good surge protectors. I suspect the majority of appliance electronics failures are surge related.
No maintenance is what kills a lot of refrigerators. ¿Maintenance for a fridge?
You *will* add years to your box's life by removing lower rear cover, and vacuuming out the dust on the compressor's cooling coils, and cooling fan(s). A nice coating of Dust and maybe pet hair makes a great insulating blanket, just what you don't want.
Cleaning might take about an hour, lots of cover screws to remove them replace. Do it every year, or two at max.
.
For reference, I bought it for $660 so for $599 is a great deal.

Does BB delivery include "install into place", not to the door only.
And taking the old one to trash / recycling too?
The Insignia is slightly larger and has the option for an ice maker should you go in that direction. I didn't see that same option with the Hisense. I saw the Hisense in person and it is about the same build quality wise. Unsure about noise levels - the Insignia for me hasn't been overly loud but I also have a really loud dishwasher so I think there are other things competing for my annoyance.
