Noting for those new to their miter saws that the 10" version was their first one and has some design flaws. Both 7-1/4" and 12" came out later with improved designs. I'd hit up youtube to look at the differences and whether they mean anything for your use cases.

Not if you're stationary and/or have reliable access to electricity, but very useful for contractors who move around a lot and might have to fight with half a dozen other guys for access to the outlets on a job site.

On a job site where power is limited or nonexistent, the advantages are obvious. In your garage there are no advantages other than not having to run an extension cord if you want to build a fence or a deck or something similar.

Dust collection, rail design are the two most talked about. I ended up buying the smaller 7 1/4 since it covered all of my needs for now.
