Is this MSRP? I was thinking of purchasing it last week but didn't know if I should wait for a sale or if onn. streaming devices usually stay at their MSRP's.

Same CPU/GPU as their $20 counterpart but a few more features and hardware upgrades. I'll wait for a price drop in the near future. Already own 4 of the 1st GEN when they had it on sale for $15, they'll received the Android TV 12 upgrade recently.

If you wait you'll get the pro remote. Last gen was slow for me so I'll wait for a sale.

This is hot deals, not retail price deals.

I have this device and like it. UI is smooth and 32gb storage is a definite luxury over the fire sticks and CCGTV devices

Thanks so much. Stremio if I understand it correctly, is an interface that combines all your accounts across multiple platforms, including disney+? can you confirm disney+ in stremio outputs dolby almos on fire cube?
Are you running Stremio as a standalone app or an addon within Kodi?

Not sure how seriously anyone should take this but I read this/saw the benchmarks and decided to wait and see what more sites/people say.

Edit: I have the 4k Onn Box from last year and it's trash. Laggy as hell, needed to replace the power supply because that was leading to issues etc.

I don't mind paying 50$ for a faster processor but this looks like it's just another spying device/crap speaker with little improvement in performance.

Grabbed one last weekend to replace my 2015 Nvidia Shield that unalived itself. Decent replacement. Used tvQuickAction Pro to remap the buttons.

Can't get the Shield to boot to recovery mode.

yeah, watched a youtube, early birds got the non backlit remote and missing the magic button for inputs or app mapping. Early benchmarks weren't special so waiting for a sale too. Easy to disable the spy features and with mic mute.

I hope your Shield isn't the canary in the coal mine for the rest of ours. I wish there was a premium Android TV replacement out there but this may have to be my backup.

Years ago, it died but I was able to bring it back to life. Recently it would just randomly not turn on and I had to unplug it and plug it back in. The other day I was streaming something and it just shut off and that was the last time it worked.

On the $20 Onn box, using Tivimate, it can't keep up with multi view. I have no issues trying to multi view on the $50 Pro box.

I have not seen the price drop on the 4k 2023 $19.88 version. Not saying it hasn't. I just am not aware that if it did.

I doubt this thing will drop unless hell freezes over and Google finally releases their new CCwGTV and its priced around $50 OR possibly around Black Friday which is about 180 days away

I do think both have the magic button, the newer one has the free tv button and backlight) according to YTV vid

Edit: I was asking if there is a way to tell w/o opening box. From a YT commenter on a video about the remote. Check the number on the box. If it says 2405A-2408A, it has the non-backlit remote without the live tv button. If it says 2409A or higher, it has the backlit remote with live tv button

For some reason I have an irresistable urge to buy this even though I do not need it and think its not priced well right now!

I f'ckd up though. I took a chance and ordered it for delivery with W+. Of course they sent me the earliest release 2405a. Didn't even unbox it. Guess I have to make a store visit
