Hessaire is a name brand cooler and has replacement parts [amazon.com].
Look at the Hessaire replacement pads [amazon.com] that you change each season. This is the heart of an evaporative cooler. Beefy. Which do you think cools better?
The Vevor page says their pads are 1.18 inch thick. The Hessaire pads: "The back pad is 2 1/2 inches thick. The sides are a little thinner than the back pad but not much at all."
Home Depot will take returns. Not my first rodeo.
Finding this model in refurb for $100 less than new is the deal, (27% less than new.) Don't compare apples and oranges.
Buy what you want and stay cool.
