The only real issue is that it doesn't automatically search for a network after power loss, which apparently a lot of people couldn't figure out?

You just have to hit the wireless connection button once for it to reconnect.
In every room I have a different brand air purifier Smilie I should make a YouTube Smilie
My issue with a refurb is my older (4 or 5 year old running constantly) model has developed a high pitched coil whine. I feel like I'd rather get a new one next time it hits Costco for $99

Totally this ^^^^^. Three out of the four refurbs I purchased from Woot did it in year 2. I even tore one of them down and added some 3-in-1 oil to one side of the fan motor and it helped for a whopping 5 minutes. I also reached out to Winix support to get a repair estimate and they told me they don't work on them or sell parts and I should hire a local electrician to repair it lol! Fortunately, my credit card extended warranty took care of 3 out of 4 of them. The only way I would buy Winix again is from Costco and having the return policy. I'm not as big of a fan of this brand of air filters as a result.

I have had one of these for years with no issue. Has anyone who owns one tried any of the generic filters available for these? If so, which ones? I have always ordered the official Winix ones, but they are much more expensive.

Got two of them, one purchased 4 years ago, another one last year. The older one moves slightly more air at high speed, I have yet to hear a motor noise from either one. Lost power in the neighborhood yesterday, once it came back, all I had to do was turn the units on through the app. No loss of Wi-Fi.
Both purchases were refurbs.

Whoops -- quick edit here. I just realized these are the C545 models. All of the refurbed C535 models have we bought from Woot developed the whine/motor bearing noise that is intolerable resulting in us throwing them away. I have three C545 models that have NOT developed the noise as of yet. They are between 2-3 years old so lets hope this issue was limited to the C535 that you rarely see sold anymore.

Flintar brand on Amazon. They look identical to the Winix filters

I bought a refurbished 535 directly from Winix. They claim it was inspected but the fan motor constantly made a noise. Winix refunded my money and didn't even make me ship it back. I would be wary. How is Woot about returns?

Just got mine from the last deal and the wifi does not connect. I have emailed woot about this or to replace my unit. The app cannot detect the unit.

Seems like a common problem after reading some reviews. I gave it a hard pass and will go with a different brand

Purchase one of these 2 weeks ago same dealm. Works like a champ. Looked like new packaging. Using it in a back bedroom and attached bathroom to keep the old humid odor out. Happy with the product and pricing.

I didn't know this was an issue with it. Hopefully they have a solution.
