Thanks, I've been reading more and have decided it will not be my best option.
What option did you end up going with instead ?? I'm in the same boat trying to cool a 8x7 shed for my dog , im almost positive this option WILL cool it down and is, in fact , over kill for that purpose (which in the case of the dog is a good thing ) .

Always wanted to get one of these ductless system. Problem is an installer always want 800 to 1000 to install them. We have to run electric in ceiling all the way across the home.

Thanks for this. Purchased a Pioneer inverter unit earlier this week that's on the way for about $90 less but it was only 19 SEER2. It's a more familiar name but also know a lot of them are really manufactured by someone else. Looks like I'll be returning that one. The extra efficiency and energy star rating (for tax rebates) for this model sold me.
Is this deal still there. I would like to get a cheaper Pioneer unit. Thanks

Tosot is a solid well built unit. I'd go with this instead of Pioneer (pioneer doesnt have wifi also)

Why can I not find even a stand alone ceiling cassette inverter for a minisplit under 800.. they cant be more expensive to manufacture than a wall unit right?

They are more expensive because they are far less commonly used. If you have to build machines that will make the parts to build an appliance, you either need to sell tons of them at a lower price, or fewer of them at a higher price to make money on the initial investment.

In for two of the TOSOT 9000 BTU 20 SEER2 units. Seems like a hard to beat price to me. Hopefully the install will be as easy as people indicate.

These will replace our aging, full of mildew, forced air unit that only cools the kitchen, and ANCIENT in-wall AC unit in the bedroom.

9k BTU is near exactly the size I calculate needing for our kitchen and back bedroom. It's slightly above for AC, somewhat below for heat.... but we have gas powered hydronic heat so will only use the heat for these units in the Fall/Spring when it's less cold in southern Ohio. With the inverter tech I think we'll be good for being very slightly over sized for the AC.

I called an HVAC guy right before ordering who quoted $9k for a two-zone Westinghouse, installed. Excited to get this done and save nearly $8k.

I have one that i put in last fall. I can recommend (and it was qualified for tax credit) Used it all winter for heating and seemed to perform just fine. I also have a Pioneer diamante ultra ++ that is higher end (hundreds more) and really they both seem to perform the same. Installing them isn't hard, but i've done 5 of them.

Is the 24k BTU mini split Energy Star efficient? I can't seem to see if it would qualify for the IRA tax credit or not.

I have the turbro 115v model that I installed last year and its been great, no complaints. A local mitsubishi dealer quoted us 5500 for a single zone and decided to DIY instead.

It must be incredible hard to install this as DIY.
