I like the pet allergy yellow filter better. Wish that one would've been on sale 😕
Same. I have 2 golden retrievers laugh out loud I usually buy the pet ones for me and these for my mom who is in an assisted living facility and has COPD... for this price I'll use these for myself for a bit too I guess.

did levoit remove HEPA from their product descriptions?
They got criticized by Dyson for false advertising. To be fair they are not the only ones that had to take it down.

I remember seeing some data that their filters meet an older HEPA specification, but not compliant with modern HEPA compliance. This means it likely exceeds a MERV 13 to a decent degree, but to what degree they just decided to not advertise.

How good are the generic ones compared to the originals?
There are several YouTube channels that test and compare air purifiers and vacuums. But I can't seem to find a single one that tests generic filter replacements against the OEM ones. It's kind of frustrating.

um, well that's sort of concerning..
I don't disagree but at least one prominent scientist doesn't think it's a huge deal as long as the CADR is as measured:
https://itsairborne.com/hepa-filt...e952792481
(See about 60% of the way down.)

I would prefer a HEPA filter to an equivalent non-HEPA filter if both are the same CADR, of course, but I have not gotten rid of my Levoit because of it. I suspect there's a similar calculus going on with genuine OEM filters and generic manufacturers.

It seems like this deal is out of stock on Amazon. The link takes you to the same item, but in "used" condition and at a lower price. The Walmart deal looks like it's still available though.

I can't tell the difference. I'm sure there is under a microscope, but when I replace the old ones they are always covered in dust

The one site that actually tests these says that the generic ones are just as good as the original ones.

I just took the vacuum to the old filter and cleaned it. Did that extend the life? No idea, but it's clean now. 🤷

I clean my hyperhepa on iqair with cold water. It probably shrunk the life of it but I can't imagine the claims of these filters without cleaning it. The filter starts leaking unpleasant air on it's 3rd month on 240 cpm 24/7.
