If you know where the main water line comes into your house and it's easily accessible, should only run you a couple hundred dollars on today's standards. But if it is accessible you could also do it yourself. The device comes with a spacer so you cut a section out of the main line that length plus extra for the fittings, install male threaded adapters using one of the methods I mentioned below and attach the threaded adapters that come with it and install the device. If you ever need to remove it, you just put that spacer in his place. If you're not comfortable shutting your water off at the meter or using SharkBite or PEX fittings or pro-press or using a torch and sweating the pipe yourself, then yeah call a plumber.

This is from Costco (arguably one of the most reputable retailer) and Moen (a household name that make shower and sink faucets).

How's the integration of this with Alexa?

Reddit mentions that the skill is not available anymore and not being updated.

I found a Moen skill in Alexa skill list, it doesn't mention anything about this flo sensor and has lots of 1* reviews

Honestly, that's still $300 too much.

I have an earlier version that sits in the SoCal sun half of the day. No issues to report.

I use Hubitat and Home Assistant integration and they work great. You could probably use one of those as middle-ware between Alexa and Moen, but that's a fair amount of heavy lifting for one device (I'm assuming you have neither).

Does it monitor the water pressure?
Yes, it does. There's a dial in the main app to show current pressure, and you can see a 7d graph at least.

Same question as above about monitoring water pressure.
See my other reply, but yes, it does.

does this one require a monthly subscription?

also, how are you all connecting them to AC power? does it have a pronged plug adapter, or are you hiring electricians to hardwire it through a wall? I want this, but not sure how I would get power to it outside the house where it needs to go.

You might need a separate detector for the service line between the meter and your house.

I have a spare outlet where my irrigation controller is located. If I didn't have that, I'd install one near the Flo. I'd read some of the Amazon reviews. If you aren't handy with electrical and plumbing, these things can cost a lot of money to keep running. Still cheaper than your home flooding though.

What determines if you should get the larger or smaller one?

Is it the size of your piping or something else?
The older "green" ones the interior dimensions of the 3/4 vs 1" were exactly the same so you just paid $100 more for bigger fittings. I assume these ones are the same but can't confirm, if they are then just go with reducers or match the pipe size.

too expensive to hire a plumber
I did by myself, very easy if you use Shark Bite.
