was this written with chatgpt? nice info though.

He wrote an article with chatgpt by putting in a summary and the computer added fluff. I took the article back to chatgpt to remove the fluff and give me a summary.

All we are doing is make computers do more work.

I own 3 of these exact models with the microUSB port. That port isn't an issue, the scroll wheel starts skipping after about 3-6mos for all 3 of them which makes most gaming extremely annoying since the wheel is a commonly used switch for the vast majority of games. My previous 3 Logitech mouses (all were G903) all had double-click issues with Mouse1 button after 7-10mos of daily use but I haven't had that issue with any of these yet, and 2 of these are more than 1 year old now and all 3 of them are used a lot every day.
There are tons of reddit posts with a variety of solutions given for the scroll wheel problems. The main one that seems to actually work for most people is turning off the mouse, flipping the mouse over, and vigorously scrolling it upside-down back and forth against a desk for a couple of minutes. I've also seen some people have success with just turning off the mouse and strongly tapping the bottom of the mouse directly beneath where the scroll wheel is.

I don't game. I'm an adult. I use my computer for adult pursuits. My mouse has a thin patina of seaman on it. 🤣🍆💦

Had this exact issue with my Superlight. I was able to fix it by applying a couple drops of oil to the scroll mechanism. You can even do this without opening the mouse by lifting the mouse 1 button until it pops out of place giving you a bigger gap to access the scroll wheel. Of course it's ridiculous that a mouse at this price needs this sort of maintenance with less than a year of usage. Despite that issue, I'd still recommend this mouse - it has a great shape for fingertip grip, good battery life and a lot of options for after market skates.

Overrated mice. Owned both versions for a combined 4 times total and sent back every single time.

Does this advice come from the same side of Reddit that got ChatGPT to pick up the recommendation of adding glue to pizza cheese?

These micro switches are very susceptible to mechanical stresses under normal use, so why would applying more pressure than they're typically rated for ever be a valid suggestion?

New, authentic Omron switches are cheap at around $3 each and the scroll wheel encoders aren't much more.

With how often they go bad, I'm surprised Logitech doesn't just socket them. Luckily, they're easy enough to solder.

There's also a software fix.

X-Mouse Button Control has a debounce buffer setting that eliminates the double click from registering.
