The achilles heal of almost all ninja blenders are the weak plastic tabs on the edges of the blender cups that essentially turn the blender motor on. If you blend tough items like ice or frozen fruit, the stressed blender motor begins to turn the blender cup which breaks the plastic tabs.

My old Ninja is 10 years old and still works. The cups are fine. I decided to buy an upgraded version just because

It's $45 before shipping and their free shipping is $49+. I went to clearance and found a $3.50 or so throwaway item to get it to come down to around $49 total shipped.

It automatically adds two coupons. You have to get the extra 15 percent by texting the code and inputting the one they give to you.
