Got to say that the quality of these blenders have gone from best to the absolute worst !!! They have cut corners in every aspect of the design. Some of the poor design choices are 1. Lid no longer locks in when we turn on the blender. Have to hold it manually.
2. Water gets inside the lid when you place it in dishwasher
3. Suction cup under the base is removed and it slids everywhere when you run it

Better go for some other brand who are still serious about making decent blenders
I bought this same blender in November, and it definitely has suction cups at the bottom. The lid must be locked manually before blender can even turn on.

Point #2, I agree - there are holes that water can get in. I handwash only

I have this one and it's been good to me. Auto IQ actually works great too, and makes a great adult beverage

This is a great deal; I used this blender almost daily for a couple of years and I liked it. BUT... once I ponied up for a (used) Vitamix I was blown away and can never go back. No more chunks of carrot in the bottom of my shakes.

Yeah weird list of lies that got promoted to the top comment. The funny thing is there is only space in the lid for water to get stuck because there is the lid locking system

I bought this exact blender last month, from Kohls, for $72 (w/ $10 kohls cash), and have been happy with it so far. Comments on all three of the above "notes" -
1) FALSE - Definitely has effective lid locks
2) True of any non-flat textured item, shake it out and put it in drying rack for a couple hours after pulling it from dishwasher. That being said, I hand-wash it, it's not difficult.
3) FALSE - It absolutely has suction cups on the bottom, in fact they are so effective that my wife will sometimes use it on a towel so that the suction cups *don't* engage because she has trouble getting it off the counter when they're stuck.

Is it a vitamix? No. But for this price, if you do mostly cold blending, I honestly don't think you can beat it. It's 1400W. It is fantastic for cold drinks and smoothies which is 90% of what we use it for and has done fine with other blending tasks. It's easy to clean. If it lasts 9 months it's still a good price.

I have to admit though I'm kicking myself for paying $16 more but c'est la vie Smilie

You can always count on someone making a claim about every single product not being as good as it once was.

I have to share a contrary opinion, I found this style blade to be much more effective at blending frozen fruit than my vitamix which constantly overheats and refuses to operate for 4-5min. I like to make 4-5 smoothies at a time and freeze the rest or share and the vitamix from costco was not up to it. TU OP, $60 for a backup.

Numbers don't add up for me, it wants 63.74. if I understand correctly there are 3 codes the 10 bucks off and twice 15% off, I don't see how that adds up to more than 40$ off.

i heard vitamix are very particular and require more attention as far as the order of how the ingredients go in, precise liquid measurements, and so on. is that true?

do you ever blend veggies like kale, spinach, bell peppers, etc? that's what i'd be mostly using it for is making veggie shakes, not much frozen stuff
