Backbone One PlayStation Edition (USB-C Version)
Inspired by the look and feel of the PS DualSense™ wireless controller, the Backbone One PlayStation Edition transforms your Android into the ultimate gaming console.
Backbone One USB-C and Lightning both available FYI. OP's link didnt work for me for some reason, so I had to search it and almost grabbed the wrong one. Just a heads up for anyone else in the same boat. Thanks for the deal post OP
As someone who had a backbone and returned it (I found it easy to bump the phone loose and was worried about it messing with the USB port when that happened) I would hold out. These (at least first gen) sold via Costco for 50 with a $25 PSN card included.
Also If you have held out on a PS5 till now I would just wait for the pro model to release and get that or buy the regular version for much cheaper.
I got my PS5 (disc, non slim model) through VZW over a year ago for 450 and it included a code for the most recent god of war sequel when purchased.
Insane they're still sticking with the $500 price tag years after launch
Check the sales numbers and you'll see that it isn't insane. Then consider that those numbers have been accrued with half of the PlayStation ecosystem still gaming on the PS4. Gamer wise, the generation has been a bit of a let down but business wise, Sony has absolutely dominated the business side of the generation. It's been reported that Sony has been selling 5 PS5s to every Series X sold and frankly, I think the number is even higher. Insane would be dropping the price when the main competitor can't compete in the present. Sony has beat Microsoft so badly in this generation that I think the bigger competitor has become PC gaming because of the Steam Deck, the like, and desktop gaming.

I think its worrying that Sony only hit half of PS4s numbers and theyre now forced to undergo major restructuring and massive layoffs and put new people in charge. With the gaming market only growing, half the base of PS4 isnt a good thing at all and is a massive disappointment for them. I dont think we should be praising major corporations for greed either keeping prices high when its always been customary to offer major price drops through the lifespan of the console.
If your product was still selling like wildfire, would YOU lower the price of it?
They only made half the sales compared to what PS4 did. Theres no more wildfire. Its a dumpster fire at corporate as they panic and deal with the poor decisions theyve made.
