For most applications this is probably fast enough. Kingston SSDs at the same slow 3500 MB/s were only $30/TB recently.

Both drives support HMB (DRAMless)

The S880 is MAP1602+YMTC NAND which is a combo seen in a lot of pretty decent budget drives (e.g. acer gm7). They say their S500 is also MAP1602 but based on specs more likely MAP1202 making it essentially the same drive as the Kingspec NX that was on sale earlier this month

fanxiang is probably slightly more reliable than kingspec if you're willing to gamble on the "chinese domestic market" bucket of budget performance drives

Originally when I came across this budget SSD I was looking to save a few bucks for a gen 3 to plug into my PCIe x4 slot. I thought why pay more for a gen 4 when my pc isn't gen 4 compatible. But the price differences aren't that far off for a gen 3 and 4 right now. I ended up getting the gen 4 and an adapter. They are both "backwards compatible" and I think it is worth the extra $20 to hopefully have the max read/write speed for the gen 3 PCIe x4 slot.

This is my first post not the best of deals but at the time it was for me. I referenced the other most recent SSD deals and requests were stating they need to be less than $50 per TB. This met the mark. Also majority of the SSD's are made in China. Welcome to America.

Can you find me a 2TB gen 4 for under $110? If so please post the deal so I can return the one I ordered if it exceeds the specs.

I don't know if you're being serious or not but a fanxiang SSD vs even the cheapest PNY, Crucial or any low end brand is going to have a VAST difference in performance and reliability.
